About Pastor Larry Brown
Larry Brown was born in Reidsville, North Carolina in 1947. Upon graduating from Bible College, he was hired by Pastor Bobby Roberson of the Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown, NC. Soon after becoming the Assistant pastor at Gospel light, he married Dianne Norman. In September of 1973, the Browns felt God’s calling to move to Iowa and start the Marion Avenue Baptist Church. Dr. Larry Brown has been the pastor of the Marion Avenue Baptist Church for the past 35 years. Under the leadership of Pastor Brown, the church has seen thousands of souls reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Dr. Larry Brown is in high demand across the country as one of America’s fiery Baptist preachers. Dr. Brown preaches in many churches and national conferences across America and around the world. He has been to many foreign countries, spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
On January 23, 2010, Mrs. Dianne Brown went home to be with the Lord. Although Pastor’s heart was broken, he kept his commitment to serving the Lord as the Pastor of the Marion Avenue Baptist Church.
Larry and Dianne Brown were married for 38 years. They have seven children, six of which are married.
Joanna, the oldest, is married to Jeremy Kobernat. Jeremy is a Bible teacher and full time staff member for the North Valley Baptist Church and Golden State Baptist College in Santa Clara, California.
Sarah is married to Mark Leone. Mark works for Cemex inc. of Colfax, NC where he is involved in inside sales. Mark and Sarah faithfully attend Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown, North Carolina.
Daniel is the youth pastor and projects manager at the Gospel Light Baptist Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Daniel and his wife Monica have a daughter named Tatum.
Joseph is the assistant pastor, youth pastor, and music director at the Marion Avenue Baptist Church. He and his wife Charity live in Washington, Iowa where they attend the Marion Avenue Baptist Church.
Rachel is married to Jerry Wyatt. Jerry and Rachel live in Tanzania, East Africa where they are missionaries.
Rebecca is married to Tim Trieber. Tim and Rebecca live in Santa Clara, California where Tim is the youth director at the North Valley Baptist Church.
Leah is the youngest and is currently traveling and helping her dad in ministry.
Pastor Brown is loved and respected by the Marion Avenue Baptist Church family. By God’s grace, he will continue to lead this great ministry until the Lord’s return.
